I can find the colors of you anywhere:

in the items around my house that you
could pick up and find funny,

in the birds singing and the sun painting and
the ocean racing itself back to shore,

in the mischief and reckless abandon of children,
in the lovers intertwined at the market,

in the posture of the man who can't
quite figure out what will quench his thirst,
on quiet walks with nothing much to say,

in the pages of lonely lines of poetry
that I have scribbled on scattered papers,
and especially in anyone with a fire inside
of their pounding hearts.

You've inspired me to go everywhere and do everything,
but I've realized that's just the half of it;
I want to go everywhere and do everything
with you.
