choice (n).

44332377551680388_PSklQ4pp_cIsn't it just that; there is always the opportunity for something else, there is always an alternative, there is always an option that would have goodness and riches and blessings. It is never just any one thing, one door, one road, one escape route- that is why choice takes bravery, because it is never just the natural forward flow or continuum from one state to another, there is pruning or picking up or letting go of something, always. That is why choice doesn't feel like bravery, because it feels most like mourning or disappointment or solitude or uncertainty or too new or picking right over easy. That is why choice doesn't feel like victory, because the other option was lost in the choosing.
