He asked me why I wanted that particular ship tattooed to my arm. I told him about Odysseus and the sea, how he was called to these great adventures and missions. I told him about when Odysseus was home his heart called him out to sea, to the open, to the space, and when he was out to sea his heart always called him home, thinking of his Love, thinking of the simplicity, thinking of the safety. He turned and looked at me with a pause, and reminded me, "is that not the conflict of anyone who has ever left their home?"
[venturing home tomorrow at 7am. The west coast is calling and I can't wait to be there].
